The college life

Now, as most of y'all know, I am a freshman in college. I attend the University of Texas - Tyler, and am majoring in Nursing. I'm halfway through my first semester and so far it hasn't gone too well. It's very hard to make new friends and I am experiencing a kind of separation anxiety with my family. The classes are a lot more difficult than I had expected. I've also had some major issues with my roomate. He was my bestfriend in high school, but now things have turned out rotten. In fact, I actually had to go to the police because one of his friends was harrassing me in my own room. I had options to press charges on him, but opted out of it. I've learned many things in the last few months here. Don't ever take things for granted, and don't trust someone even if you've known them for 2 years. Not everything is bad though, I have met a few people here, one even invited me to go join his basketball league because he saw me playing in the gym one day. Other than this I've learned to take advantage of the library and Starbucks! I get to go back to work for Christmas which will be wonderful, and get to be with my dad for Christmas. Well that's all from me! Hope everyone has a good day :).

In the fixing

Ever since I was about 15 years old I've always had an ambition to start an organization in Africa to educate and give vaccines to the people there. There are many things in life that strike me off guard and this is definitely one of them. I never knew how bad people were off in Africa until I started studying it in all my history classes. There is no reason for us to be free from all kinds of diseases such as Hep. A and B, and these poor people out there not to take advantage of the vaccines. So one of my life long goals is to prepare education ceremonies and also to prepare vaccinations, and to give them to at least 100 Million people in my life. That is a huge goal, but what inspires me the most to do it is the people and kids the walk down the street that look fat, but really it's because they haven't eatin' in a week. By the time I'm 30 years old I hope to get this organization on it's way and have MY first trip to Africa wether it be Uganda, Nigeria, or even Ghanda. Everyone needs help over there, and I can tell you that I'm going to step up and be the hope they have for the rest of their lives.

A swirl of school and the flu

This week was definitely a tiring week, literally. I tried to get as much rest as I could, because I got the flu. On sunday I started out the day with my friend and me going downtown Houston to see the most influentional pastor in the world, Joel Osteen. It was absolutley incredible as he shared the word of God with us, and as we sang and rejoiced. Now, that evening was a different story. I had become acustom to getting ready for bed at about 8 o'clock and watching some tv to allow myself some relax time. This so called "custom" didn't work out. My mom forcefully dragged me to this dessert auction, and of course I couldn't buy any, hell a pecan pie went for 1000 dollars, 3 different times!!!! So then I started to complain to my mom that I had to get home because I wasn't feeling well, and that I probably wasn't going to go to school, because of my symptoms. I had made a doctor's appointment way earlier in the previous week to check my regular medicines. I am glad I did too, come to find out I have the flu, and have to miss the WHOLE week of school!!
I was put on a few different medications and sent on my way to get a lot of rest and to "keep those fluids in me." All week I was in distraught thinking about all the school I was missing and how I am going to be so far behind all of the others. So in order to compromise with myself I e-mailed my teachers and got some work to do. The very day I sent out the e-mail's was the day I finished all my school work for the week. I just wish everyweek could be like this :). Stay home, eat, sleep, do a weeks worth of work in a day. Unfortunatley today, I went back to school and really didn't have too much make-up work, which is good! It was just one of those weeks in which you never know what the next step is going to be until you get to the moment itself.

My First Blog!

Well I've officially became a blogger. Today I endured a great day of hope and joy with my brother, Taylor. At first I went and helped my stepdad get his new motor scooter inspected at the local mechanics. After that I went and enjoyed the day hanging out with my brother. We talked a lot and I read a personally story to him, and we had a pretty good conversation about basically nothing, just life in general. We watched this show called "Maury," and I couldn't help but to notice that it was deffinatley a waste of my time! Who cares if the guy really has another kid. He has 25 to begin with!! Well anyways, I digress. After a total wasted afternoon we decided to go enjoy to the new movie, Mall Cop. It was hilarious, and I would recommend it to anyone that has a thing for Kevin James (one of my favorite actors.) Tonight I'm just going to relax and have a peaceful night appreciating the invention of television, and of course the media. I hope all ya'll have a wonderful day tomorrow, and everyone enjoys the Inaguration!!!!

God Bless, Blake Rudolph
